HMS Hood is frequently celebrated as the most iconic warship of the 20th century, symbolizing the might of British naval power during the interwar years while serving as a poignant reminder of maritime disaster.
As the largest Battlecruiser ever built, Hood held the distinction of being the world’s largest warship throughout her service and remained the largest vessel in the Royal Navy until the advent of the Queen Elizabeth class aircraft carriers. She represented British strength and global influence between the World Wars. Her fame was secured not only by her remarkable size and graceful design but also by her status as the only ship of her class.
The name Hood is etched in history. However, her legacy took a tragic turn when she was lost during World War II, struck down by a shell from the German battleship Bismarck in 1941, resulting in the loss of 1,415 crew members, with only three surviving.
The HMS Hood is meticulously crafted from 2 mm mild steel sourced from a European country, ensuring high-quality material. After laser cutting, the ship undergoes a thorough deburring process, is steam cleaned, and is finished with a sleek black painted coating. The warship is designed with 4 mm pre-drilled holes for convenient installation.
