12″ inches RAF Bomber Crew Metal silhouette, Battle of Britain Pilots, Battle of Britain 1940 Second World War Air Crew

Our brand new meticulously crafted design of a 12-inch tall Bomber Command aircrew figure, precision laser cut from 3 mm mild steel obtained from Europe, guarantees the delivery of superior quality material.

Bomber Command aircrew functioned as a cohesive unit, with each member relying on one another and playing an essential role in the successful completion of their mission. Their collective efforts ensured that the aircraft could reach its target, release its payload, and return safely to their home base. The crew members experienced the same challenges and threats together.

Prior to 1942, each aircraft was staffed by two pilots and a dual-role aircrew, which included an observer (or navigator) who also served as the bomb-aimer, as well as a wireless operator who doubled as the air gunner. With the introduction of heavy bombers, the second pilot was replaced by a flight engineer, and the remaining crew members were assigned distinct, specialized roles.
